He hasn`t been around since April. Perhaps he began tunneling sometime then -- and it has fallen in on him. Hence, no more leftcider.

Its possible SHW, but I think leftcider is pretty resourceful, so I doubt it.

So, I moved out of my house, found some abandoned logging land on a road where people only rarely get shot at, and decided to homestead. Unfortunately, my bout of voluntarily homelessness began during monsoon season. I also noticed that my car's gas mileage was about half what the manufacturer said it would be, meaning I was spending almost as much on gas to live in a hut in a grim and frostbitten soaked kingdom [and slaughter my way through yuppie traffic hordes going to work everyday] as I could on a hut made of concrete and steel in the city. Also, my co-worker told some people at the place I had just started working that I was without an official hut, and the people that run the place started to get suspicious of me (there are children that go there).
I've spent periods of my life hut less and working before, but always in places where lots of people are transient. I grew wary of not being trusted on that basis.
Although, it was really, really good for me on an emotional level to basically hit my mental "reset" button and break free from my routines. After I left nomadism, I started using my time much more efficiently and enjoying myself more. I could definitely go for that now, and might spend a week in the near future doing something like that again.
So, I movethed froth into an apartment, although I return to the land every now and again. I'm attempting to tap one of my new roomatez for skills. He's replaced my mom as the biggest badass I've ever lived with, he grew up in a Scottish orphanage and joined the Royal Marines to stay off the streets. After fighting in two conflicts and killing several people, he passionately hates the government, especially the British government. He's an expert in several martial arts and owns a giant Viking battle axe that has been passed down his family throughout the generations. He's a good man.

Good to see your OK there buddy.
We thought perhaps you were that sad sole in California that decided to tunnel under his house, and had the whole house collapse on him.
lefty, sounds like you've had a pretty hard life. Hope things are on the up-swing for ya. Hut-less, or tunnel-less must be bad.
In fact, it is one of my worst fears.

Not really, all the times I have spent without hut I have had enough money saved up to rent a place if I needed it, but chose not to because I was in college and wanted to save money over the summer rather than spend most of it on rent, and/or because I lust for adventure and freedom. And, they were pretty good experiences (some more comfortable than others, but I learned a lot and had fun).
Now, they may have not been so enjoyable if I hadn't known I could leave if I needed to, or if I was urban street camping rather than car camping with safe spots figured out or bicycle camping in the woods. I did urban camping a couple times alone in Europe (I didn't want to pay $150 for a hotel room), it was teh suxxx.
You are reawakening my wanderlust, stronghates!
