Why Do We Argue About 9/11?

I know why I do: it tipped me off about an agenda to destroy my freedom. The official story is so ridiculous that it begs to be refuted. It also shows how ruthless certain key players are, willing to mass murder their own countrymen and cover it up. Just for power and money.

But many others, just as opposed to government policy and its assaults on freedom, argue that the official story is essentially correct. I am labeled a "kook" and caricatured as a wearer of a"tin-foil hat."

Often things get so heated in the debate that nasty names and insults get tossed and the debate deteriorates into a catfight. I have been guilty of bearing rancor towards the backers of the story as reported in the media. Sorry about that. But for me, an understanding of 9/11 as a false-flag operation has contributed to a certain knowledge that my kind (Joe Sixpacks) are targets or at least no more consequential than a cockroach running across Dick Cheney's kitchen floor.

So you other folks? Tell us why you debate this issue. And...the ones who don't care one way or another can weigh in on why they think fanatics of the 9/11 Skeptics and the Supporters of the Official Story trade such mighty blows...

I just can't help but feel if people would analyze things a little bit, they would see it could not be as described in the official story.

( Took me about three minutes. I was wakened out of bed just after the impact of the first plane, and watched all the news stations all day. Before the second tower fell I was already defending my view that it looked like Hollywood stunt, and that the official story was bogus. Of course, I know what companies were in the floors that were targeted, and have some considerable resentment towards those same entities, so it's no surprise that I was somewhat more sympathetic to the underdogs in that scenario, assuming the terrorists did in fact fly into the buildings. I was also the only person that seemed rational, and not totally overcome with rage because of the tactics of the alleged perpatrators. One can't help but wonder if that plays into the equation in any way. )

If the evnts that day are in fact as portrayed by the Feds, they should enter this into the Guiness Book for the most coincidences in a single day, ever. I'd like more people to recognoze that simple truth.

Why Do We Argue About 9/11?

Because we'll never have enough evidence to put all the conspiracy theories to bed or even to support fully the official report. It will forever be an unfinished story. No bad guys caught. Many questions left unanswered.

So people speculate, fIll in the gaps with whatever makes sense to them, influenced heavily by their opinions of the parties involved. The group that forms the Yang to their Yin feel they must take exception to their take on the attacks.

Or maybe because we'd argue about anything.

I could say I was having a heart attack and 3 people would reply that this wasn't really a heart attack, 7 others would feel it necessary to remind me that this was caused by my smoking, 4 more would tell me that if I only accepted christ as my lord and savior this wouldn't be happening in contrast to the 6 others who assured my that this was god's plan for my life and I ought to be rejoicing. 67 members would accuse my of faking the whole thing while the two ubergeeks immediately start to trace my location so they can notify the paramedics. 19 people would remind the 67 others that saying I'm faking is a personal attack and asking the mods to intervene. 2 mods would tell them no. 18 would post links to sites with information on how to tell if you're having a heart attack. One person would post a dead link and call the previous poster an asshole. About the time 43 people called the last poster a looser and suggested he take a walk, the thread finally gets closed and disappears, Everyone moves along to post in the "What would god want for his birthday?" thread and I lay dead at my keyboard.

!2 members would later post that they'd won the argument since I was too much of a pussy to post back a rebuttle and Sean would ban them. My cats would eat my body. What little remained would be discovered only because a bill collector thought he smelled a bad odor.

Someone, 6 months later, would start a "Where's Ish?" thread. 6 post arguing that Volconvo is becoming a chat room. That thread goes on for 162,731 posts.

neither side is willing to listen to the points of the other side, which is occassionally helped by the tendency of each sides' posts being way too f'n long. any thread involving 9/11 conspiracy theories is a hopelessly boring thread. plus, the skeptics cite some questionable geocities-type sources, while their opponents cite government studies (and as all the tinfoil hats know - anything and everything from the government is a lie).

me... i believe that on 9/11, we were hit by al qaeda fuckwads - and since i never enter into the 9/11 debates, that must mean that my mind is made up (and that there's nothing left for me to say that hasn't already been said).

hope for america...

Hilarious! Isher, it is common for you to be funny, but this was uncommonly funny...you are a great contribution to the forum.

Who are the underdogs that you feel sympathetic to?

Most people believe this to be the case from the tapes he made, but many in here have pointed out that he never did - he said America deserved it, and said the reasons why it happened, but did not take responsibility.

I did not listen to the tape (or remember whatever part was played on the news) so I will not say either way.

That would not end the debate anyway. When there are terror attacks, often several groups will take credit, sometimes no one will. So you really need more than that to go on anyway.

If it makes you feel any better, we would 'look' for you sooner than 6 months.

The oppressed who are being crushed by the Great Satan.
