yeah the Republicans aren't racist.........any explanation why 90% African Americans, 80% Latinos/as, and the vast majority of Native Americans choose to NOT VOTE FOR REPUBLICANS?
I bet those Republicans aren't homophobes either, but 95% of queers don't vote for them.
I have an explanation. Could it be that they are naive. I know I was until I really started learning about the government and how it works. As an African Americans I can tell you that we grow up what the belief that democrats are good and republicans are bad. Our families and everyone we know vote democratic, so that's what we learn. You are an uncle tom if you vote any other way. I think god that I have learned and wised up. I am now a libertarian, because I believe that America should be run according to the constitution. The reason why most minorities vote democratic is that they don't know what the democrats really stand for.(Socialism) I don't think most native born minorities even know what socialism is.

Minority voters know which Party has their interests, and issues front and center, and they have members all the way up the process,(from delegates in precincts to candidates), and they have a voice in all decisions. That ain't the RNC!
How exactly do the democrats have the interest of minorities front and center? Shouldn't the constitution be front and center?

His personal credit report was illegally obtained by the Dems and this is a felony. Where is the NAACP, Jesse Jackson, and Al Sharpton to defend a black man from this onslaught?
They only show up when the camra is rolling. All they really do is wear suits and profit from hate. They never address the real issues in the black comunity. They just say it's the white man's fault.

All that proves, as I said, is that most minority voters are self-loathing wards of the welfare state.

You challenge other people to provide evidence for their claims, yet you come out with this utterly subjective slur against minority groups.

I suggest you provide some evidence to substanciate the strereotype you are attempting to construct.

Society may be formed so as to exist without crime, without poverty, […] no obstacle whatsoever intervenes at this moment except ignorance to prevent such a state of society.

It could be you are naive. The reason the Republican Party are considered racist is that they are made up of white conservative right wingers that are pissed off at FDR for creating what they consider a Liberal Court.

In the 1950's there was what was then known as jim crow laws. The Court struck down those laws, which to the white conservatives meant that Federal Govt violated State sovereignty. The anger the white conservatives demonstrated over the Court ruling striking down Jim Crow was interpreted by the black community as a racist reaction by members of the Republican Party.

Irony has it that in Nebraska they are going back in time by creating a separatist law in their school district and of all people it is a black legislature by the name of Ernie Chambers that is pushing this separatist law on the books.

So there you have it folks.

Underbear wrote:]Minority voters know which Party has their interests, and issues front and center,

Yes it is called the Welfare State that began in 1932. Both major American Parties only seek to enlarge the welfare nanny state. Itis just that the Dems seem to be more enthusiastic about it. This is perhaps why they attract more minority voters. Everyone wants something from the nanny welfare state starting at the top of the food chain with Farm and Corproate Subsidies right down to subsidized housing and rent control.

Both parties use racism when it suits their agendas. Too bad politics has to divide the classes in this country and promote class warfare. It is only detrimental to the entire progress of the country.

As for the Dems being all for the blacks in this country by giving them a "voice" in government, this is utter nonsense. The south, up until the 1950, was ruled by the Democratic Party with a whip and a hangnoose. The blacks had to fight their way up for equality. Rosa Parks didn't have to fight for a seat on the bus in Burlington Vermont. The Democratic Party of JFK and RFK who sent the government down to Selma to sort out the "black problem" resembles more like the current day Republican Party. Example: JFK's tax cuts. Example: JFK'S will to bring Democracy to the world. Example: JFK's Domino Theory. Example: JFK's Viet Nam and Cuba invasions. Does this ideology sound familiar?

Lyndon Johnson's Great Society of the early 60's, and his social welfare system did more to destroy the black family than any other single legislation since the before the War between the States and slavery. The Great Society's social welfare program encouraged, and still does encourage, black women to have children by several different fathers, and furthermore, for the family to have no father figure living in the household at all. It literally destroyed the nuclear black family by separating these broken families from mainstream America and condemning them to live in segregated and isolated cluster housing so warmly referred to as the "projects" where fatherless children perpetuate the system or turn to a life of crime and end up dead or in jail. Sure they have their best interest in mind here.

These programs did nothing to intergrate the nuclear black family into "white" America. These "democratic" programs are solely repsonsible for the condition of the black family today. And the black communities continue to support this system that only serves to destroy their families. Someone is getting it. If this is haviing the black families "interests" in mind, I would say no thanks. And many do. A prime example is Dr Thomas Sowell.

    Oh and btw,

You wrote :"And just in case you missed my earlier point (which it appears that you did), there is no such thing as "the interests of minorities". Anyone who thinks so is obviously racist."

And you also wrote: Minority voters know which Party has their interests, and issues [B]front and center

    Conclusion: Minority voters are racists?

You can argue all you want about the RNC being racist or not, but the numbers show that minority voters, VOTE OVERWHELMINGLY for the Democrats, That's the only bottom line that matters.

To throw your own words in your face
"There are many minority voters who would take offense at your claiming they are self loathing wards of the welfare state. Why don't you stick that on your G*D DAMN RNC bumpersticker and see how many minority voters vote with you?
The DNC by having minorities all the way up the process allows THEM to define what THEIR issues and interests are, they aren't told by the white folks from the top what they should support.
Have you EVER heard of the NAACP, Urban League refusing to meet with Democrats?...I thought NOT!
If you sling mud at your opponents, your own hands will get dirty. (Is that a quote from Confucius? If not, it should be. )
