(CBS/AP) Iran's successful test of a nuclear-capable missile demonstrates its "very active and aggressive military program" that is worrisome to the world, the State Department said Friday. The announcement in Tehran said the missile's range would depend on the weight of its warhead. Iran's air force chief, Gen. Hossein Salami, said independently guided payloads could hit several targets simultaneously.

While Tehran denies it is trying to develop a nuclear arsenal, ballistic missile experts advising the United States say it has succeeded in reconfiguring the Shahab-3 ballistic missile to carry nuclear weapons, the London Telegraph reports. "This is a major breakthrough for the Iranians," said a senior U.S. official, according to the London paper. "They have been trying to do this for years and now they have succeeded. It is a very disturbing development." Recent test firings of the Shahab-3 by military experts show Iran has been able to modify the nose cone to carry a basic nuclear bomb, the experts conclude. In November, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad threatened to "wipe Israel off the map." Iran has declared war on Israel whether we recognize it or not. In December, Israeli officials said then-Prime Minister Ariel Sharon had instructed the Israeli Defense Forces to prepare for a possible military strike against Iran. The same reason people who don't want to kill other people own guns, to protect themselves from foreign aggression.


Who can deny that the West wields as much influence over these people as possible?


They just want the same thing we do, the self determination to decide their own future.

I find it interesting that after trying for years they now have it. The right amount of money could have bought it for them at any time during those years and its not as if they wouldn't have had a plethora of investors with similar interests. Golly I wonder what will happen. :rolleyes:

The world is starting to fragment, because societies are eroding from the inside due to too much power structure control over too many people.
