A most exellent post, masterfully rendered, and that bears repeating.
Couldn't have said it better myself, though some would contend, I fear, that I should be getting used to that by now.

ROTFLMBFAO!!!
Has it escaped your finely tuned sense of irony that you have just called me a name while ridiculing me for calling jihadi doucebags by their appropriate nom de guerre?

Thanks, I needed a good laugh.

You should have said that calling a suicide bomber a coward is ONLY absurd as compared to those who kill civilians by dropping bombs from the sky........at least we agree that Clinton's tactics in Kosovo were less than courageous, oui?
DOH! I see a petard being hoisted!

What could be more idiotic than the right wing insistance on blaming everything on Bubba Clinton? I did oppose Clinton's actions in Kosovo, but that doesn't make your rants any more coherent. Really lame.

How about left wingers who reflexively denigrate any and all actions, statements, and suggestions of our current CIC, including siding with our enemy in every conflict? That's more idiotic by far, n'est pas?

Why do I not trust the left?

Could it be that familiarity has reared the distasteful expectation sired by past offense?

Yawn. I am a libertarian, not a left winger, dill, and our "Commander in Chief" lied this nation into a needless war. Guess you think that that is a good thing. Your claim that anyone who opposes your war mongering is effectively a traitor is ridiculous, but that is about all I have come to expect from your pathetic rants.

Let’s sum this up. The suicide bombers are courageous and the U.S. forces are cowardly.

So who do you want to win?

Rubbish! The only way these "guerillas" can win is if the knees of those like you knock so hard as to soften your spine.

Let me get this straight. A person straps a bomb to his gut and sneaks into a crowd of people; soldiers and civilians, children and adult, and detonates himself, and he is a righteous warrior? So if you are among the dead, killing indiscriminately is just fine?

You whine about the US killing civilians, but when they do it, it’s OK.

Right
What pure crap. I oppose killing of civilians - period. Your rant about my views on suicide bombers is completely idiotic, to be kind. And I could care less if you choose to ignore the tens of thousands of civilians killed by the US during the invasion and occupation. Denying the truth doesn't change it.

Those are your words - not mine. Are you so dim as to read that from my comments? If so, that is your problem, not mine.

First of all, I would appreciate it greatly if you would forgo the adolescent glee you no doubt feel whenever you put words in my mouth in order to proclaim them "ridiculous".

I thank you in advance for your consideration.

After which, I would like to express my fervent wish that an intestinally challenged camel relieve himself through the sunroof of your Mercedes.

“The right wingers feel better calling the insurgents names. Now, isn't that special? Calling a suicide bomber a coward is absurd, especially as compared to those who kill civilians by dropping bombs from the sky.” Post 17

“Calling a suicide bomber a coward is absurd” (Your words tell me you do not find them to be cowards.)

“especially as compared to those who kill civilians by dropping bombs from the sky” (Your words indicate you believe the US soldiers in those plane to be cowards.)

So who do you support; the Non-cowards, or the Cowards?

So I guess you have answered my question - you really are that dim. Calling suicide bombers cowards is stupid. Pointing that out does not constitute an endorsement of suicide bombing. Duh. And no, I never called US pilots cowards, regardless of what problems you may have with reading comprehension. Ridiculous.

Or to perhaps put it another way, any soldier on the ground who can look the enemy in the eye is worth 500 politicians calling the shots back home. Is that close?

Fact is America has already lost this war.

I'm sorry, but I don't remember those words coming from the mouths of fellow Marines or from the Army. Do you have proof that we are losing this war?

So, Apeman. How do you view the use of napalm and white phosphorus against the civilians of Fallujah by the US military? That's courage to you, huh?

To be perfectly honest, the civilians knew what was going to happen if they stayed in Fallujah. I'm not advocating support for it, however, we both know that Fallujah should have been taken the first time around, but the politicians in Washington though otherwise.

They have already defeated us. They have demonstrated that the most powerful nation in the world cannot provide security even at some of Islam's holiest's sites. They have proven our weakness. The insurgency remains deadly and more Americans and Iraqis die. And your name calling does nothing at all.

No, they haven't defeated us. Mindsets such as these is one of the main reasons the government pulled out of Vietnam. Name me one battle we have lost in either war? None. Why do you guys lack faith in the military today? :(

Soldiers are not supposed to make such judgements, and they wouldn't know anyway. War is a BIG thing and these guys are primarily concerned with who is around the next corner with a rifle in their hands.

And whether any war is "won" or "lost" usually depends on the politicians and NOT the people actually fighting the war.

Fearless? Utter rubbish! Suicide is neither courageous or admirable. It is the cowards method of running from a life they are too weak to face. Murder is no a thing to praise.
Well, what aould be an acceptable method for an Iraqi to resist what he sees as an invasion of his country? How should the Iraqi's try to defend their country? I'm curious as to what would be acceptable to you, and still be practical and effective for them.

So, PatrickHenry, the US Military purposefully targeted civilians?

This comment is unworthy of further discussion.
Only because you think that the precious US military wouldn't do such a thing.
I don't expect you watch this video, Ape. It might undermine your misplaced confidence in the US military. http://novakeo.com/?p=315

Yes, they target civilians, and always have, going back to the first days of white people on the shores of the Caribbean, right up through the slaughter of Indian women and kids on the frontier, to the terror bombings of Hamburg, Dresden and Hiroshima. It ain't over, and the lying propaganda continues. I see that you are victimized by the same lies as large portions of America. What a shame...

Soldiers who deliberately target civilians are rogues/criminals and should be severely dealt with (and, yes, that includes high ranking military commanders who order such acts to be committed).
