We have not, however beheaded innocent civilians. Never did that; not even once. Furthermore our WWII prisons were wonderful places to stay. The prisoners weren't forced to work, but some volunteered to do so. The food was good and there was enough of it. The only prisoners who escaped from our prisons in WWII hid in American cities. One German went to Chicago. A few years ago he was caught, but nothing was done to him. We did not starve prisoners anything like the Japanese did in WWII, or the Koreans, or the North Vietnames. Just sit down and consider which nation you'd like best to be imprisoned by......You certainly don't want to be kept in a terrorists prison in Iraq....or a Turkish prison, or a Russian one for that matter. You'd eschew being held in a Japanes prison in WWII, or a German one either; in some of those folks were murdered in mass. American Indians were in almost constant warfare prior to Whites arrival in the Americas. Many Indians in Mexico were tyrants, which is why their societies collapsed. Have you seen how the Japanese treated the Chinese during WWII? You are dreaming Polish/English. | |

| Volcanic Erupter Location: Mexico City Posts: 4,772 | What is tolerable by way of prisoner treatment develops over time. Back when the Crusades atrocities were permissible, in WW1 they developed the Red Cross and humane treatment, now we've got universal human rights, cultural sensitivity and even sensibility over the differently-abled. One would need to compare contemporary treatment of prisoners by similarly situateds to discern how far beyond the pale the US handling of terrorist suspects goes. I think use of torture has been excessive and the sexual humiliation of captives wrongful. I also think other western governments wouldn't handle them that way, but maybe some would if they had suffered a 911-like attack. Et semel emissum volat irrevocabile verbum. Raúl M. Núñez Sheriff |
