I think he means that both things are equally illogical. Sure the red and blue hate each other like the Hatfields and McCoys, but the republicans are not stupid enough to cut off their nose to spite their face. daniel seems to be insinuating that the attacks were/could be engineered not by radical Muslim terrorists, but by some shadowy republican cabal, and that's just stupid.

Who's paranoid now? I once heard someone say that the republicans are trying to advance the process of global warming because when the ice caps melt, it'll be the blue states that get flooded.

I say:
Now that just plain gives conspiracy theorists a bad name.

Some people actually use facts to support their claims, and Daniel has for me WHEN ASKED.

Granted, there is a lot of reading involved to understand most things, but what good is reading if it isn't doing you any good?

But can you PROVE him wrong? No.

You simply rely on what has been said publicly, which doesn't amount to shit.

That is the problem. The probes, the investigation, the official public story is LACKING and the administration is not FORTHCOMING with answers.

When those two things add together, usually there is foul play involved, of some level or another.

Are you sure about that?

Didn't those people all swear a public oath do protect, and defend the constitution against all enemies, foreign, and domestic, and then proceed to undermine that very document with the Patriot Act?

To pass the Patriot Act into law, one would automatically become a domestic threat to said document, thus making them guilty of crime. Anybody voting for it is complicit, and anybody not defending it with their life is derelict of duty.

I'll give you that, I agree there. I also have to commend you for taking action with your reps and the petitions. Glad to see people taking action and being part of the process. I wish more would.
as much as we seem to agree, i think there are far more similarities in our positions than places where we disagree.. i never liked the patriot act (or the HHS), even when i used to be pro-bush. it's a useless act that chooses to diminish civil liberties without addressing the complete ineptitude of our own intelligence angencies.. 9/11 would never have happened had these agencies not have had their heads deep up their asses. to give them even more (undeserved) power is akin to throwing money at the problem.. it hasn't worked in any other area, and it won't work in our bureaucratic "intelligence" system either.

Are you kidding? I love a good conspiracy, but this is nothing like a good conspiracy. Believe me, if I thought there was any possibility that it could be true, I'd be on that bandwagon so fast your head would spin. I have my share of acrimony for the current administration. Personally I don't side with the dems OR the reps: I hate them both. I am simply unconvinced that there is any support at all behind the theory apart from wishful thinking.

I was referring to the one above ("terrorist" attacks on the blue states=republican conspiracy to take out their enemies)

There is a reason this happened.

It was called public outcry.
No :-)))
From-time-to-time, politicians give some carrots away to the People.

Do you think they care the People ?
Maybe some of them really do.
They have just figured out, that the latest Patriot Act carries a little too drastic limitations to the People. Otherwise, they would go ahead.
I would not be surprised when new Patriot Act version appears and gets the approval.

I say:
Thats why many of us folks want to reposess the garden. We have been watching where all the carrots go, as well as the potatoes, tomatoes, peppers and yams. A lot of us are getting pretty tired of being forced to PAY to raise a garden with all these great vegetables, when all we get is an occasional carrot, and its usually the smallest, lowest yielding carrot of the whole plantation.

Excellent, from a person outside the U.S., this makes me feel good for the population south of Canada. Social freedoms are what we all fight for in North America, we are the standards and that act was a direct contradiction of North American values.
