Posts: 6,800 | 1:- The Israeli army are doing that right now. 2:- Probably the PA, with aid from the EU/US. 3:- The Israeli government - but several of the evicted sttlers are shunning governmental aid. Where does all the money come from in the first place? Haven't a clue, don't particularly care. The fact is, the illegal occupation of Gaza is over - now let's see what happens with the PA and the West Bank. I spent a lot of money on booze, birds and fast cars. | Igneous Magma Posts: 169 | Matt W- Where did you hear that some settlers are shunning government aid? I think that most of the protesters were not the settlers themselves. The settlers mostly all took the aid the government offered and then left peacefully. The protesters were mostly outsiders and fanatical hardliners from other parts of Israel and probably enlisted by the settlers to do their protesting for them in some cases. Don't you think it would be silly to suggest that ideals would come before money with these people? Hey, for all we know the Israelis government could have put the protesters up to the whole charade to make it look like it was a really great hardship on those people to have to give up their houses and land! We 'should' know that there will never be an intention to give up anything else to the rightful owners after this pathetic display of making the Israels sacrifice look like a big deal when in fact it was nothing but a token gesture to score big political points. Don't think for a minute that the people of the M.E. don't know exactly what it was. They voted overwhelmingly in a poll conducted at Al Jazeera to call it for what it truly is intended to be and what it's intended to accomplish for the Zionist cause. And then of course there is the American cause. That is to at least give the appearance to the Muslim people that the U.S. is acceding to at least one of Bin Laden's grievances, that being the outrageous treatment of the Palestinian people by the Zionists. Posts: 6,800 | Somewhere on the BBC, monty - some settlers are setting up 'mini-settlements' within Israel proper to attempt to put pressure on the government to send them back. Fat chance. | Igneous Magma Posts: 169 | O.K. thanks Matt. Are you sure that the ones making all the fuss are really the settlers. I'm suspicious when I see that a lot or most of them are the wacko extremists that wear the little black Christmas presents on the tops of their heads. |
