| Volcanic Erupter Posts: 3,799 | U.S. Lowers Sights On What Can Be Achieved in Iraq Looks like the Bush Team significantly "misunderestimated" every single aspect of his military adventure. One can only hope for some form of accountability for these criminals. "The Bush administration is significantly lowering expectations of what can be achieved in Iraq, recognizing that the United States will have to settle for far less progress than originally envisioned during the transition due to end in four months, according to U.S. officials in Washington and Baghdad. The United States no longer expects to see a model new democracy, a self-supporting oil industry or a society in which the majority of people are free from serious security or economic challenges, U.S. officials say." http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...081300853.html "Everybody knows that the boat is leaking Everybody knows that the captain lied." - Leonard Cohen |

| Anarcho-capitalist Posts: 1,972 | We should have remained on seeking justice for the 9/11 attacks. Trying to fight 'bad guys' / 'evil' around the world was a doomed prospect from the beginning (half the people can't even agree on who the evil bad guys are). I'd much prefer seeing the U.S. freed and set up a new republic here. Freedom - are you man enough to handle it? If so, join us in New Hampshire! Just like the Ottoman empire did in the first world war. "It is not power that corrupts but fear. Fear of losing power corrupts those who wield it and fear of the scourge of power corrupts those who are subject to it."- Aung San Suu Kyi |
