This is the only thing I ever liked about Bill Clinton, and he might have been seen more widely as a great man had Arafat actually accepted. Perhaps this is a step in the right direction. Finally. |

If a reasoanble corridor of territory could have been agreed, perhaps the agreement would have been acceptable. | Igneous Magma Posts: 169 | From dotcoma's quote above: "The army expresses "deep understanding for the [settlers'] pain... but as a law-abiding democratic country, we will carry out this mission in full". " What a joke that is! If Israel was a law-abiding country they would have abided by the applicable laws as laid down by the U.N. years ago. This move is now being seen by the Palestinians as the end of the Israeli's return of Palestinian lands, and they are entirely right in thinking that IMO. A partial measure by Israel in order to turn world sentiment toward Israel for what they intend to be seen as their great generosity. And of course an attempt at appeasement of those who fight against the U.S. assistance of the Israeli attempted genocide on the Palestinian people. G.Adams- You're absolutely right about the Oslo agreement. That dishonest attempt to blame Arafat should have been put to bed long ago. |
