| Volcanic Erupter Location: Hong Kong (for now) Posts: 6,992 | Israeli Finance Minister Warned Before London Blasts http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=stor...n_explosions_1 By AMY TEIBEL, Associated Press Writer Thu Jul 7, 7:14 AM ET JERUSALEM - British police told the Israeli Embassy in London minutes before Thursday's explosions that they had received warnings of possible terror attacks in the city, a senior Israeli official said. Israeli Finance Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had planned to attend an economic conference in a hotel over the subway stop where one of the blasts occurred, and the warning prompted him to stay in his hotel room instead, government officials said. Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom said he wasn't aware of any Israeli casualties. Just before the blasts, Scotland Yard called the security officer at the Israeli Embassy to say they had received warnings of possible attacks, the official said. So, how come Benny was warned but the British public wasn't? What's going on here? |

Still, it's an intriguing point - if it really happened. I spent a lot of money on booze, birds and fast cars. The rest I just squandered. -George Best, on being asked what he did with his footballing fortunes. |

| It's simply logical Location: San Diego Posts: 4,111 | Do you know who else may have been warned? Members of the G8? The British government? Israelis are an obvious target for terrorist attacks, so I'm not at all surprised they were warned that something may be up, along with other potential targets. You appear to be making an assumption that the Israelis were warned of a specific attack rather than a general threat that "something may be going on", and that the Israelis were the only ones warned. You don't know that. Spreading the warning that "something might be up" to the general public is a bit more iffy... as we know here in the U.S. from the variety of Homeland security warnings based on buzz that only managed to confuse and scare the public. . | Igneous Magma Posts: 672 | i am not at all saying this is a conspiracy. but if what's reported here actually happened in the way described, someone owe some explanations to the public. i mean do they not have any means in the subway to warn the public, both not to enter and leave? do they have loudspeakers for announcements? |

Have you ever been on the NY subway or the DC Metro or any one of the other busy underground systems? They do have the capacity to make announcements on most if not all of them, but were you to make a "Please be advised, we have information that there is the possibility of a terrorist threat on this system" announcement, thousands of people would be trampeling each other running for exits and the injury rate would be substantial. Then, after 5 or 6 of these announcements, they would be able to announce someone had a gun and was mowing people down at the next station and people would COMPLETELY ignore it. It is almost a no win situation for authorities. All I see when I look down, something jumpin' on the ground, Scratchin' dirt, cluckin' in the barnyard - Tell me, could that be you? John Kay |

| Igneous Magma Posts: 672 | isbskins1, never thought of what you said. and you've got a good point. but still, could they have tried only allowing people exiting the subway but not entering? even if only say 15 minutes were available? i've lived in nyc and boston before, so i know how it's like; and i don't think it's not worth a try. just do something. but i am not completely sure. i mean what do they do when they receive a bomb threat right before a ballgame starts in a stadium? |

| It's simply logical Location: San Diego Posts: 4,111 | By the way, ya'll know that Rudy Giullianni was in London at the time of the bombings, in fact just a few blocks away. Hey, isn't he the same guy that was warned "15 minuntes before the collapse of the WTC" on 9/11. Hmmmm, coincidence? I think not! If the CIA blew up the WTC and Jews and Giullianni was involved, it seems likely he had something to do with the London bombings. Right? Right? Know whaddamean? . I don't suffer from insanity... That there had been an explosion caused by a power surge? http://www.simplyappalling.blogspot....83238456427558 coi bono? |
