CANOE -- JAM! Music: Jackson fans 'commit suicide'

Quote:
Fans of Michael Jackson have been hit hard by the star's death - 12 devotees have allegedly killed themselves following the tragic news.

The King Of Pop passed away on Thursday from a cardiac arrest and millions of his fans worldwide went into mourning.

But several of them found it too hard to cope and subsequently ended their own lives, according to the founder of an online Jackson fanclub.

Gary Taylor, president and owner of MJJcommunity.com, says, "I know there has been an increase (in deaths), I now believe the figure is 12. It is a serious situation that these people are going through but Michael Jackson would never want this. He would want them to live.

"They (fans) can't accept it, they feel in some sort of different reality. I'm stunned that he's dead. One minute he is coming here for concerts and the next he is gone. I think the funeral will be where the reality kicks in that he is gone and won't be coming back, there will be a huge depression in the fan community when that happens."

And Jackson's political activist pal Reverend Jesse Jackson has even recorded a message to his fans, urging them not to "self-destruct" in the wake of the singer's demise......
It's called natural selection, and if they're that too damn stupid that they're going to kill themselves over something like this, then the world's better off without them.... friggin drama queens.

Cripes, there's more important things to worry yourself over and somenoe's death, no matter how famous or how important in your life, isn't worth killing yourself..... and if those people's lives were so pointless without Jackson that they felt they needed to end their lives, then that just goes to show how sad their lives really were.

And if someone killed themselves over me, I'd be telling them the same thing.

*hard smack to the back of the head* SMART'N THE HELL UP PEOPLE!!

hmmm, I read the exact same thing and was a bit shocked that people would go that far.
They didnt even know him personally.
They obviously had deep emotional issues before this though.
To be honest I didnt shed a tear, I didnt know him, his music was great and all but it would be fake to stand outside with a candle crying over someone I never knew or spoke to.
If people coudnt cope enough when he died not to kill themselves they obviously werent quite right anyway.

Suicide wont bring him back. It will sour his memory, he wouldnt of wanted that

I am astounded! I didn't know that Jackson had that many fans anymore! I means it's been a long time since a hit album hasn't it?

I remember hearing when Elvis died. I was in traffic driving home. Traffic didn't even slow. I remember when Frankie died. I lifted a scotch and soda in his memory.

How can people be so out of touch as to kill themselves over the death of a very strange, but uniquely talented man? I suspect that MJ's fans who killed themselves over Michael's death had other "issues".

Jesse Jackson? It's been a while since he injected himself where he doesn't belong.

Don't believe everything you read on the "Internets". There has not been one corroborated Jackson suicide that I can find, and certainly not 12.

Methinks "Gary Taylor, president and owner of MJJCommunity" is making up stories to promote his site. How shocking!

I agree, barts. Considering all the links on that site the absence of a single link to a story about a Jackson-inspired suicide is telling.

And this is an example of misinterpretation:
Quote:
And Jackson's political activist pal Reverend Jesse Jackson has even recorded a message to his fans, urging them not to "self-destruct" in the wake of the singer's demise.

Jesse Jackson says, "This is a time when hearts are heavy. There is great pain but great cause to celebrate Michael's life. It made Michael happy saying 'We Are The World'. Don't self-destruct. We fall down sometimes, we get back up. That's the right thing to do. In Michael's name let's live together as brothers and sisters and not die apart as fools."
I don't read that as a plea not to kill yourself.

Ya, definitely not 12 suicides, if any.

I recently bought the Darwin Awards III, a book about people who kill themselves in an extraordinarily stupid manner. As the subtitle of the page says,

"A Chronicle of Enterprising Demises
Honoring those who improve the species...by
accidentally removing themselves from it!"

I wouldn't mind if the Jackson fans kill themselves... If they're that stupid, why care?

That is ridiculous. I felt the same way about all the rejects who offed themselves after Curt Cobain offed himself. Pitiful.

It is ridiculous, but if it's really what they want to do, I say "Go for it."

Bingo!

To be totally honest I wasn't a huge fan of Sinatra. I liked him, but to my dieing day I'll be a fan of Sammy Davis Jr.; whom I believe was at least as talented as Michael Jackson.

I was a young man during the Rat Pac days. I never went to Vegas to see them, but it must have been wonderful to see those guys on stage, drinking, making fun of one another, singing and dancing.

To me, MJ was a talented freak. Sammie Davis Jr. was a died in the wool genius, and a good man to boot!

It's good to see that he didn't die in vain...

There is only one right answer and, yet, you still argue with me..

You're the proof that it doesn't.
