Agents: HR Workers Helped Immigrants Get Fake Id's

Agents: HR Workers Helped Immigrants Get Fake IDs - Des Moines News Story - KCCI Des Moines
Quote:
Two human resources workers at a Postville slaughterhouse facing immigration charges are accused of helping workers obtain and submit false documents. They were arrested on the same day that the company owner and four managers were charged with more than 9,000 misdemeanors alleging child labor law violations.
This took place in Postville IA. For those of you who do not remember Postville holds the national record for the most arrests in a single raid, of Illegal immigrants and possiblly the largest mass arrest of any kind. People who have said before they don't think immigration is a problem or that immigrants don't cause crime in mass production, must be kiding themselves. This is a prime example of the serious nature of the problem. I do have to say i am very proud of Iowa for being a leader in the fight against illegal immigration and for the arrest of these criminals.

One thing we could do is help the process for legal immigrants. Here's an article about immigration in 2004 i think: http://fpc.state.gov/documents/organization/31352.pdf
If i'm wrong about the article, sorry, i'm really tired right now.

Make everything legal and there would be no criminals.

Theoretically, if we actually followed our immigration regulations that we have right now you would be right, but we don't so we do. And we aren't creating a class of criminals, illegal immigrants create that class all on their own when they cross our borders unlawfully.

No, they don't crate that status "all on their own." It is in fact created by a tyrannical global system of state capitalism. The "illegal immigrant" status was made up, primarily by imperialistic, rich, white Christian males with property, to create and maintain social equality -- and it's time to put the genie back into the bottle.

Their borders should be broken down, lawfully or unlawfully.

This is so ridiculous that I hardly know where to begin. Illegal immigrant is not a status created by the evil, white, Christian males unfortunately. If sneak across the border into ANY country then you have become an illegal immigrant by no one's fault but your own. Please stop putting your unnecessary racist views into issues where they don't belong.

Then you are ignorant of history. You mention the rest of the world, which is fine. Much of the rest of the world has also suffered under colonialism (and the colonialist mindset in general). That's not a "ridiculous" error on my part, but an observation based on historical fact, and it's even implied by the present state of affairs. And yes, much of this colonization was planned by rich, white Christian males...and still is.

That's great but I fail to see what your colonialism speech has to do with our country's present immigration crisis, that is unless you drawing a parody between the colonization of America what is going on today where the illegal immigrants are the British colonists and America is the "Indians". In that case I would have to say that your parody is not pitch perfect but I certainly agree with your overall message.

Oh yes, because Mexican immigrants are violently overtaking the entire country, right? Do you understand nothing of what colonialism means, or the role it has played in the development of state power throughout human history? I'm assuming not. If we go to the root causes of American hostility toward immigrants, it is indeed based on the fact that they are "foreign," that they have a somewhat different culture and language, different appearance, etc. And the US government, like many others, has sought to conquer and control such people. What we see today is just a continuation of these efforts, met with a few other considerations. Your desire to reverse roles is typical, as well. That's always been done by those with the settler mentality. Domination by one culture, one language (and, for some, on race) can always be trumpeted as "the clearest vision for America," because we simply cannot tolerate that "confusion" called multiculturalism. I'm unique in that I say "NO" to this elitist, statist mentality. I don't need my language or aspects of my perception of culture to be systematically imposed on others.

oK I just need to interject here. If illegal mexicans do not want to be jailed then the answer is do not break the law. If you think the law is wrong, very well gfight against it vote against but do not excuse people who break the law, because the fact is they were not arrested for being illegal they were arrested for creating fake ID's which is a federal offense, they were also arrested for 9,000 child labor law violations which means they must have employed several hundred minors to work under unsuitable conditions for children. What do these specific crimes have to do with colonialism or any type of elitism? They don't the proof is clear these people go to extreme criminal behaviors as they do not understand our laws, and clearly have no respect for our child labor laws or or laws against fraud. I don't understand grandpa why you so avidly protect and defend criminals. Is it because you are an uillegal imigrant yourself?

What law are Mexicans breaking? Walking across an imaginary line to keep "those kind" out? Give me a break. There should be no "Line" and in fact, there is not. If someone wants to work, let them.

There is always something sensible or realistic lurking in your logic, but it is skewed by so many wrong turns that finding the truth in your arguments becomes difficult.

For a democratic society to work, people need to be voting citizens, and citizenship requirements need to be higher than walking across the imaginary line, or the democracy will cease to function adequetely.

Besides, too many poor people coming to work in the United States would weaken the middle class and empower the wealthy. The middle class wouldn't be able to compete with the prices illegal immigrants are willing to work for, and a source of cheap labor in resident aliens would suit many corporations fine.

A wrong turn like what? Pointing out that "illegals" are human beings who may have interests other than learning to speak English and having the state's boots on their necks? Is that a wrong turn? How about the fact that American government has always been a system of colonialism, theft and ideological subordination to standards of white, predominately Christian European immigrants?

Let me ask you something:
If I cross an imaginary line on a map, do I in fact become fundamentally different? No, there is no such transformation except in the minds of deluded statists; those who refuse to mind their own affairs and who think a "foreigner" must always be up to something terrible.

You speak of "truth" yet your own arguments offer nothing like it. It's not true that people must be citizens to live somewhere. That is an imposed condition, and it has no rationale other than how it's a requirement of a ruling class and its bootlicking cultural elitists.

ID cards are good for an apartheid system, but not good here.

Stay on topic this is not a debate about illegal immigration per say it is about the fact that workers at the postville meat packing plant violated the law. The laws they broke were yes crossing the United States Border without permission an illegal act which is a federal offense, it is not, not illegal just because you do not agree with the law. Should it be legal for me to take what ever I want from a store just because I thik food prices are rediculously high and can barely afford food? Should I decide I no longer want to pay my bills, taxes or child support and decide to create a new fake identity, should i be allowed as an american citizen to higher children no more than 8 years old to work in a meat packing plant? Illegal imigrants do not have the right to break the law any more than American citizens do, and they need to be held accountable for it. Instead of crossing the borders illegally they can choose to cross legally, they can choose to write letters to our government asking for changes in laws, instead of stealing.
