I find it unsettling that a whole community can be so intolerant to other ideas. But hey, it's America.
Strange, I find it unsettling that society can be so tolerant to other (bad) ideas. It's to hell in a handbasket.

"He went so far as to lift the shirts of female students to insure the letters 'GP' or the words 'Gay Pride' were not written on their bodies."
Yep, that's why I lift the ladies' shirts...I'm looking for letters and words.

You know, i don't really know what they mean by gay agenda
If you attended a Gay Pride event you would.

How does everyone feel about his outing the girl to her parents? Is that an appropriate action for a school administrator to take? I don't perceive that as a very Christian thing to do. Seems more petty and vindictive to me.
How is that even possible? How could the parents not know and if they didn't, how could they rightly be called parents?

Appropriate action? What, like allowing minor children to have abortions without parental knowledge? Like prescribing condoms to them without parental consent? Appropriate like that?

As a parent, I would have appreciated any information concerning my children when they were away from home. I wouldn't expect their peers (friends) to squeal on them but it would be nice to see other adults getting involved in the welfare of our children.

The girl calling the ACLU is what I call petty and vindictive...but that's what one should expect from today's youth...especially the misguided ones.

Quote:
Yes, that sounds very Christian to me!
You wouldn't know Christian if it smashed your head in with a baseball bat.

Quote:
He suspended some of her friends who expressed their outrage by wearing gay pride T-shirts and buttons ...
Ardena hoped to protect the students' freedom of speech — whether it was the freedom to wear Confederate flag T-shirts to show Southern pride or the freedom to wear rainbow T-shirts to support gay rights. Courts have repeatedly ruled that similar student protests are constitutional as long as they are not disruptive.
Except the confederate flag isnt a good comparison because

Quote:
NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- A federal appeals court panel has ruled in favor of a Tennessee high school that banned students from wearing clothing with the Confederate battle flag after several racial incidents.
Which reminds me of the boy who wore the 'Obama: a terrorist's best friend' t-shirt. "Disruptive" is highly subjective and selective.

Quote:
Confederate flags, pro life or religious expressions would probably not cause the same concerns in the court.
Bias tends to favor the minority.

Quote:
It was a mother who contacted the ACLU and it was the mother who hoped to protect the freedom of speech of students who protest.
Yeah, right, that was her agenda. Sure. She cares all about freedom of speech.

Good luck Soylent, you'll need more than silly 'facts'!!
Good ol' facts! Yeah, George Bush has a bunch of facts for you if you're interested.

Uh, facts are not all they are cracked up to be.

Has it ever not been.

Is standing on street corners and talking to yourself also becoming a problem?

You would? Hand out pamphlets did they? Or was god standing behind you whispering the truth that only you could hear?

American Civil Liberties Union : Laws Restricting Teenagers' Access to Abortion
Quote:
Many states have considered or adopted laws that would prevent teens under 18 from obtaining an abortion unless they involve a parent or go to court. These laws take two forms: Some require a clinic or physician to obtain the consent of a teen's parent(s) before the teen's abortion; others require a parent(s) to be notified before the procedure. Although everyone hopes that teens can turn to their parents when faced with an unintended pregnancy, and in fact most teens do so, laws preventing teens from obtaining health care unless they can talk to a parent put their health and safety at risk and do not increase family communication.

Most Teens Voluntarily Involve Their Parents in Their Abortion Decision
So as a parent answer yes to one of the following:
You are the type of parent that Most Teens Voluntarily Involve Their Parents in Their Abortion Decision
OR
You are the type of parent , unless they can talk to a parent put their health and safety at risk and do not increase family communication.

If the former then the law does not effect you at all. If latter then the childs health is more concern than your pride.

No it is not.
There is a very real empirical evaluation.
A boy with a t shirt = 1
Several incidents = more than 1
Only in your world is maths subjective.

Yet I find it far more satisfying and a challenge when they are used than when i have to answer to a rant of bizarre opinions.

My two daughters remained virgins until 19 and 20 and neither would ever consider an abortion as they don't believe in murder, especially the murder of defenseless, innocent children. Of course, they understand that some people do not love children and, in fact, would kill anybody (including children) who get in the way of their pursuit of self-satisfaction. It's not about choice; it's about the sanctity of life and natural affection or the lack thereof.

BTW, my eldest daughter has a son of 14 months who is the joy of all of our lives, including her younger sister. She is not married and wants the father to have nothing to do with the child as he is irresponsible and unfit (at this time) to be a dad. This is his fifth child by as many mothers and, as far as I know, he pays support for only one of them. While he deserves to be punished for his lack of responsibility, she will not cause her son to suffer to punish the wayward dad.

Broken homes and fatherless children are a sad reflection on the mores of a degenerate society but it is better than the destruction of defenseless lives.

If you are a male and are in favor of abortion, you have no right to life. You are a spot of disease in the human race. To be for abortion is both sad and pathetic.

What a load of crap! We're not talking about health care here (I mean, come on, how many parents refuse their children health care?), we're talking about abortion. Allowing kids to have abortions without parental guidance is extremely more life-threatening than the alternative.

Giving birth is a natural process with minimal risk and maximum reward. Having an abortion has maximum risk and minimal reward. There is NO comparison!

Strange that you find life bizarre.

Actually, We're talking about the actions of a school principal towards gay students and those who support them. You know, the topic of the thread.

I want everyone to be gay besides me and a harem of 2000 women...I'll gladly volunteer to keep the Earth populated. It's a burden I'm willing to endure for the good of mankind.

The guy is full of it...prejudice that is.
