Iraq's government has removed 550 tonnes of natural uranium left over from Saddam Hussein's era and sold it to a Canadian company, government spokesman Ali al-Dabbagh said. The uranium, called yellowcake, had been stored in a compound at Tuwaitha, south of Baghdad, which was once the centre of Saddam's nuclear weapons programme.

It turns out Bush may not have lied? Remember "Bush lied people died"..Some on this site used it to indict Bush?

If Ambasssador Wilson lied which he probably did..(how could he find out anything on a visit of a few days?) then there would have been no Valerie Plame incident and Skooter Libby wouldn't have been so badly treated?

What really frosts me is the lack of coverage this new revelation in the media which made it such a big deal a few years ago? Plus the slant Reuters puts on the revelation..

The Bush administration's claim that Saddam was developing nuclear weapons was a primary justification it gave for the invasion to topple his regime, but no evidence has been found that Saddam continued a nuclear weapons programme after 1991

Thats not true! Bush actually said British Intelligence reported Saddam had tried to buy Yellow Cake from Niger! If he didn't where did the 550 tonnes come from?

The CIA called into question UK claims in last September's dossier that Saddam Hussein was buying in uranium from Africa even before the document was published, it has been confirmed.

In a statement later on Friday, CIA director George Tenet acknowledged his organisation had wrongly allowed Mr Bush to tell the American people that Iraq was trying to acquire nuclear material from Africa.
