This is sick. Absolutley outrageous behavior, for medical staff I hope each one loses their license to practice and they should pay her family for her death. Psychotic or not they let her die, no one deserves that. Saving the empovershed by empoverishing their counterparts will empoverish the whole.

Why I am not surprised? Many, many people die in hospitals because of staff neglect and incompetence. I found out the hard way just how unsafe hospitals really are. My husband survived aortic dissection surgery, but died 13 days later of cardiac arrest caused by an incompetent nurse. He was in the coronary critical care unit in a very good hospital. His bed was right next to the nurses station. There was no way the staff could have missed the alarms going off. (unless they were turned off) I was told he was "found" with no blood pressure. I was also told three weeks after his death (by an ER nurse who was there when he coded) it took an hour to locate the doctor. The hospital "lost" all but 16 pages (out of 364) of his medical records. When I mentioned "lawyer", the records were suddenly found... that day. The blood analysis (drawn shortly before his death) documentation had been blacked out. That you may retain your self-respect, it is better to displease the people by doing what you know is right, than to temporarily please them by doing what you know is wrong. W. J. H. Boetcker

Halofan the 7 workers may have lost their jobs but thta doesn't mean they have lost their medical licenses. If they don't revoke their licenses they could allow other people to die in another hospital. Saving the empovershed by empoverishing their counterparts will empoverish the whole.

In a world where altruism is sneered at ala Ayn Rand (is 'Atlas Shrugged' STILL second to the Bible?), what would you expect? Saddened, yes, but definitely not surprised. The woman was a kook (a hypochondriac, most likely). Most of them probably knew her (and her fantasy illnesses) and didn't really think much about her 'show'. Still, a hospital is not the place to practice apathy, indifference, and presumption. Was it lunch time? There is only one right answer and, yet, you still argue with me.. I'm the proof that evolution works... You're the proof that it doesn't. Ask your doctor if thinking is right for you.
