Austrian 'hid daughter in cellar'

BBC NEWS | Europe | Austrian 'hid daughter in cellar'
Quote:
A 73-year-old Austrian is under arrest on suspicion of hiding his daughter in a cellar for 24 years and fathering seven children with her, police say.

All I can say to this is sometimes people just suck.

Just another example of your blunt morals. He almost certainly had mental problems , and shooting would be of no help

Anmon seems willing to shoot anybody he disagrees with. It'd be interesting if everyone applied his principles, wouldn't it?

How can you say this when the bible says thou shalt not kill?

What a piece of work is man! How noble in reason! The paragon of animals! And yet, to me, what is this quintessence of dust? Man delights not me; no, nor woman neither..

How about we comment on the topic, hmm?

I spent a lot of money on booze, birds and fast cars. The rest I just squandered.

I feel sorry for her. Though, the guy must of worked hard to keep that secret. I mean, hiding someone for 24 years & fathering 7 children with them? I wonder what's gonna happen with the girl and the kids.

The 19-year old will have a hell of a time adapting to society.

Usually, in cases such as incest, I'm of a 'live and let live' opinion, however this takes the biscuit.

I refuse to believe that the wife had no idea.

Live and let live? Could you clarify that please?

The likely hood is that she wont, and on that note she and her children (the living ones of course) will probably have to have much support and help as they continue to live out the rest of there tradgic lives...

He very well might have been affective paranoid schizophrenic borderline personality and I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest.

But then again, I would be equally unsurprised if he was a Youth Minister and Vice-President of the Kiwanis Club.

That's a tender line for me that I have not yet formulated in my mind sufficiently. I think that the word and concept of 'evil' is a wonderful method of avoiding responsibility, for avoiding discourse and honest examination. Saying that Nazis were 'evil' and leaving it at that is an immeasurable disservice to those who suffered under Nazi Germany. Glossing over the intricacies and subtle power of historical pseudo-science, propaganda, etc. only allows them to reoccur.

But at the same time I come up blank so many times. And all I'm left with is, "Well, hell...the guy's evil."

I wouldn't be surprised to realize that, either. A lot of so-called "normal" people end up being the biggest freaks.

Screw his mental condition and his in particular. I think shooting his is to humane. He should be tortured for 24 years like he did to his daughter and then shot!

But only after he's been publicly strung up by his hemorrhoids. Then everybody will feel better.

My question is, how do you help someone with mental problems. We can do almost nothing for them... sadly.

Sometimes it's a matter of prescribing a certain pill. Other times that isn't good enough.

Why go down to their level? Why torture people? What sort of image would that provide for that nation?
