I suspect that government violence actually creates psychological violence among people. It might even shape people such as the man we're discussing. Grandpa h. ![]() Sedimentary Rock Posts: 6 | Definitely one of the worst things I've ever heard of. I mean putting your daughter in a cage for years and fathering children with her? That's just disgusting.I think he should be killed I also think there's something very wrong with the guy and I don't think he realizes what he did was so horrible. At the very least before we kill him he needs to get some guilt becuse as of right now his mind is so messed up he thinks what he did is okay . I'd rather he first see proffesional help first because dying without feeling guilt is so much more blissful then with guilt. |

As for Fritzl, in his defence (and this really is his defence, apparently!) he didn't actually kill anyone. Nevertheless, I'd give him 5 out of 10 for the original kidnap and imprisonment of his daughter, plus a quarter-point for each child fathered, half a point for the baby he incinerated, and an extra point for the fact that it was all incest, combined with the lengths to which he went in order to perpetuate the crime. All in all, a sick, evil man. | |

| Igneous Magma Posts: 268 | This is the sort of attitude that hampers recovery. You have to admit that it's NOT as simple as "remove them from the BAD situation, place them in what appears from OUR perspective to be a GOOD situation and TADA, problem fixed!" and then go off to have a drink to celebrate your success in "CURING EVIL one crazy at a time...". I wonder about the kids in Texas who were ripped from their families, too. It's just NOT that simple, and I rarely see that side of the issue addressed. |

Think of it like the Richter Scale: an earthquake measuring 8.0 on the Richter Scale is exactly ten times more powerful than an earthquake measuring 7.0, and an earthquake measuring 9.0 is ten times as powerful again. So in other words, Pol Pot constitutes a big enough earthquake to level any city, whereas the effects of a Fritzl can be negated if you use earthquake-resistant building techniques. I think. |
