Then why ban them? Besides, i'm sure we've all cussed at some point in our lives in one way or another. Really, they are used to express anger or irritation.

Im generally not a swearer.

But if they applied a rule like this where I lived, every second word I say would be a swear word.

Why? Because I think its an infringement on my right to free speech, and I would rebel against it.

All they are doing is giving people something to rebebl against.

Personally, I like cussing, it's a great stress reliever.

I'm not keen on taking the Lord's name in vain, but I still do it a lot then apologize, and I do mean the apology.

I come from a long line of cussers, so this would be a tough habit for me to break.

Now if someone would just define cussing and what cuss words are? Seems to me they mean different things to different people? The use of the MF word seems to be part of the ebonics culture though its frowned on by little old ladies and my generation? In one sub culture the words "yo Momma' can get your skull cracked! That aint cussing?
This whole idea, while good, is probably intended to increas civility but its too general to be anything more than a reminder.

Milton, I don't think Sonarts cacaphonous bowel sounds and unrelated photos can be considered cussing? He seems subject to reverse vertigo and makes sense once in a while!

Thus we play the fools with the time, and the spirits of the wise sit in the clouds and mock us.

It is still a sin.

ONE. You cannot force the rules of your religion on others in this country, so sorry.
TWO you don't need to pray to have self control. Really, to read some of the posts on here require a good deal of self control as to not flip out on them.

I'd like to thank Charlie Hodge, bringing me scarves and water.

I am not "forcing" a "religion" on anyone. I do have self-control.

By banning the use of certain words due to the fact that it is considered wrong by certain religions is forcing your religious beliefs on others. You'd be saying "You can't say this because my religion says its evil to say these words"

Even morally, it is wrong.

A word cannot be "morally wrong" Perhaps the way it is meant, but not the word itself. Banning a word won't help at all, they'll simply find new words, and is also a violation of the 1st amendment.

Seems like there are etiquette rules in the world. My thinking on the topic is it's disrespectful to yourself and others. Also, it doesn't take a lot of brain-power, so you're really sounding like a caveman or woman. Takes a lot more thought to use better words. Words are what sets us apart from the animals. Admittedly though they are funny. Most comedians would be lost without them. I think they have a place just like anything else, and they should not be banned.

I don't know why every topic seems to imply religion has some huge role in it. There would be manners without religion. We all pretty much watch what we say around Grandma.

Unfortunately, someone often argues their point using their religion, bringing it into the debate. Yet this is getting off topic, so I'll stop here.

Though they are words often used to insult people and aren't the most intelligent of terms when used as such, it's still just a word. Also, it's protected by the first amendment.

I'm not sure. I'm a strong proponent of the idea that every word in the English language has a time for use. I just don't swear a lot, because it just doesn't suit me.

Don't forget this is all in good fun!

It's effects are negative in itself.

"Religion" is in All Things.

Not always. I've heard people use it like some people use the word like. They aren't really saying it to be insulting or for the actual meaning. It's similar to someone going "It was, like, awesome" Also, in some cases, the word may be used for it's original meaning. In that use, their is no negativity intended.

Sorry but using a religious argument in a debate that does not involve religion is not a valid argument. If you cannot debate from a non-religious standpoint, do not debate.

What if I was to state, if you do not debate in a "Religious" standpoint do not debate?

You'd be spouting nonsense. Does that even make sense to you? There's no reason you can't express a religiously based opinion in a debate on any topic, but in a debate platitudes are not sufficient. One-liners are for comedians, not debaters. Support your opinions, as you've been asked to do on numerous occasions. Remember, "Comply with moderating team requests and intentions" is a forum rule.

You are using your "power" to request that I answer in a format that you enjoy, and would allow for less "evidence" on my part?
