The media likes to stimulate interest in suggesting we generlize off a distorted specific? Is it really an interesting story or just more testimony to the bizarre attitudes of various members of the human species? Examples...some whacko advocate of Obama hangs a Che Guevarra flag on a wall...some crude TV news guy usies the term "pimping out" in reference to the Clintons daughter.. Was it Will Rogers who said "All I know is what I read in the newpapers"? Thus we play the fools with the time, and the spirits of the wise sit in the clouds and mock us. |

![]() The Cake is a lie... Location: St. Louis Posts: 2,385 | I can't believe the guy actually out and admitted it. Typically, bigotry is more covert in this day and age. Points for honesty though, I suppose. What makes a man turn neutral? Lust for gold? Power? Or were you just born with a heart full of neutrality? |

![]() Apathetic Posts: 111 | Well I'm ok with it. If you read the article it states: The school is owned and operated by the Society of St. Pius X, a group founded in 1970 in response to reforms that the Roman Catholic Church initiated with the Second Vatican Council. The group follows pre-Vatican II practices, such as the Latin Mass. If they are consistent in their practicing of not allowing women in direct authority over males the so be it. It is a private school and sets its rules of conduct based on its faith system. I may not agree with it but I think its allowed to do so. There are other schools where she can ref so she is not being shut out from being a ref. We are quick to claim separation of church and state when its in our favor but not if we disagree with the church. Seems a bit disingenuous to me. |

![]() Igneous Magma Location: Virgnia, USA Posts: 425 | Favoritism. Women are prone to fall to men's charms. This is why it would be a good idea to keep boys and girls in different classes and not allow female teachers to teach boys. This is how we can avoid child abuse cases. Boys are irresistible to some women. Likewise, homosexual teachers should not be allowed to teach boys. Hunt with dogs |

Likely the school's administrators accept that little contradiction as "a traditional female role". . I don't suffer from insanity... I thoroughly enjoy it

Gender should have nothing to do with one's ability to call shots, and referee a game. I played basketball for 10 years of my life, and I never even paid attention to the refs except to listen to their calls. Unless this woman is an ex-pornstar, I doubt she'd be able to distract the boys from their game. "... I don't know which will go first -- rock and roll or Christianity." - John Lennon.
