| Volcanic Erupter Location: Mexico City Posts: 4,772 | I find no fault in BofA seeking a profit, what would disturb me would be to find they made the purchase for some other reason. The housing market difficulties have a lot to do with speculation fueled by easy credit terms. Restricting access to financing for those enormous mortages will dry-up the market and halt the rise in housing prices. This would seem like good news, except that it will be more difficult and expensive to secure a mortgage. I don't think we are witnessing the advent of the mother of all depressions and collapse of capitalism, its a market adjustment, tighter credit, smaller market, lower profits on resale.
