Justices Hear Arguments in Guantánamo Cases

Justices Hear Arguments in Guantánamo Cases - New York Times

Look at the terrorists in the picure. They cover thier face not to give themselves away. Dispicable.

Next thing, the libs are gonna want to know if the terrorists were read thier Miranda Rights on the battlefeild.

And right after that they'll be demanding the government actually provide evidence of their guilt.

Why is hiding one's face a sign of legal guilt again?

When I went to school and learned about the Constitution, no one was locked up without being allowed to articulate a defense. If America has become the epitome of everything it was founded on to oppose, then what exactly are we defending?

The government holds dear the ideology and practice of imperialism. It feels it is right to oppose the
"aggressive" activities of others, often before the others acted against America and when the "aggressors" came into power largely due to US influence (an amazingly regular pattern).

So that the government would deny basic principles of justice (evidence, right to defense, a relatively quick trial) is no surprise.

The Constitution only applies to citizens of the United States. These are (so the argument goes) enemy combatants. They are not entitled to the legal protections that American citizens have.

The war in Iraq has nothing to do with protecting the United States. We are not fighting for our "freedom" over there, we ousted a dictator and are trying to clean up the mess resulting from that ouster.

What are you kidding? They are covering their faces with black hoods and wearing orange prison garb because it's a symbol. That's what inmates of guantanamo were forced to wear, bags over their heads. Haven't you seen the pictures?

Huh?

I was referring to your ignorant comment that they are cowards who are scared to show their faces. Like I said, it's simply symbolic because the inmates of guantanamo were forced to wear bags over there?
