All I've seen such rightists do is throw around terms like "lefty" or talk about bias in the media. Any report or study that makes the Bush Administration look terrible is simply a lie, and there are a lot of such reports available.

Really, a good study could be made of the rightwing reaction to facts that expose the Bush league for what it is.

Jews are a race of their own, Iraqis are not. Whos killing our soldiers over there anyway? It sure as hell ain't Scandinavians. A million dead Iraqis is a million less chances for our boys and gals to get killed.

ORB said it drew its conclusion from responses to the question about those living under one roof: “How many members of your household, if any, have died as a result of the conflict in Iraq since 2003?”

So we ask people how many of their loved ones have died? Is it an attempt at an "appeal to emotion" by conducting a study that makes questioning it's validity seem wrong?

I'd hate to ask any family member who lost a loved one whether or not they were being truthful be it Iraq or anywhere else.

Does anyone have a link to the full study? I'm curious to learn more about their survey methods, sampling, etc.

I will say that the one thing I find odd off hand about this is that the casualties appear to be automatically labeled civilians. Just because a family member of mine gets shot to death doesn't mean he wasn't in the process of robbing a bank or something else. Just being related to someone does not mean they're innocent of wrong doing. Furthermore, I find it odd that these types of "civilian" casualties are not being distinguished between those directly being killed by US forces and those indirectly by sectarian violence. A distinction that would place blame on the military for direct casualties but only on the administration for indirect ones.

All the people of Iraq had a choice to make years ago, to find a peaceful solution as to how to rebuild after Saddam. They failed because they're too interested in fighting each other in a struggle for power, just as its always been. Historically, they're leaders aren't voted out of office, they are murdered out of office. Thats how things work over there. They didn't want to do things the democratic way, they wanted to do things the Iraqi way. As the death toll climbs it only reflects how things are in balance with their history.

Since this entire war was presented as a war to to bring peace and end a threat to the US then your plan would be pretty much admiting guilt by the Bush administration.

Personally I'd rather see 1 million dead US citizens from the southwest and southeast who consider themselves "rednecks" But thats just my sick view :rolleyes:

You could do what Helio did, and say dead Americans are better than dead Iraqis, simply because you both have a penchant for embracing the enemy.

Understand this. They all hate you. The men, the women and the children. I just want to see our kids come home safe, and if a few million of the futures brightest terrorist have to die to make that happen, than so be it.

I can only imagine this sort of thinking during WWII. I can almost hear the pity for the dead German women and children taking precedent over American lives. Which side are you on? Ours, or theirs?

We can't fix Iraq until we break their people. Maybe in the end they will end up on this side of the 14th century.
