New Al Qaeda Web Ad Threatens 'Big Surprise'

The Blotter: New Al Qaeda Web Ad Threatens 'Big Surprise'
Quote:
A new al Qaeda propaganda ad, headlined "Wait for the Big Surprise" and featuring a digitally altered photograph of President George Bush and Pakistan's President Pervez Musharraf standing in front of a burning White House, was posted on the Internet today.

The brief clip from al Qaeda's "as Sahab" propaganda arm juxtaposes the doctored photo of Bush and Musharraf along with previously seen images of al Qaeda's top leadership -- Osama bin Laden, Ayman al Zawahri and Adam Gadahn -- as well as a photo of an SUV in a motorcade.

There is no additional information provided in the ad, and it closes with the words, "Soon -- God willing," written across the screen and repeated several times.
From reading the comment,s I think some of you frequent that blog.

And this is why Volconvo is never going to be a serious debate site, or attract large number of posters who wish to discuss world events.

None of ya'll live in the real world, just your own kooky bubbles of self made reality.

You just happened to be the only that posted, and that response was flippant. This is Al-Quada here, these guys are going to hit the USA again...

It's not a matter of if. It's important to discuss.

Fact is, most of us have moved on from debating "if there are bad guys" to "why are there bad guys", you just don't like where the blame was affixed.

Milton, you guys live in a bubble. It's a bubble of self hate and loathing, a warped view of reality.

Islamic Terrorist are real. They really did attack the WTC in the 90's, the USS Cole, embassy bombings, Lockerbie, 9/11 and their stated goal is world wide Islamic Rule under Sharia Law.

But instead of accepting this reality, you all look for phantoms, shadows, ghosts of secret societies really controlling the world. You take implausible explanations and stretch them to fit your reality.

You think the Government of the USA is the true evil, and until it's stopped the world will never be safe. It's sad to see smart people so dumb.

Actually, Mr. V., in my view, while Islamic or any other terrorism is of concern, it does not deserve the rampant, irrational fear that people like you exhibit. An American has a greater chance of being hit by lighting or being crushed in an avalanche than dying in a terrorist attack. The whole tactical rationale behind terrorism is to generate irrational fears with small, spectacular attacks. You, Mr. V., are living proof that terrorism works.

S.

It only seems warped to you because we didn't let the Fox News create our opinions for us. I imagine looking out of that lense would make all things seem quite distorted

You never see me talking about secret societies running the show. I know right where to place the blame. ( World Bank, United Nations, World Monetary Fund, Federal Reserve, Republicans, Democrats, banking, and Insurance institutions, large corporations, ...)

I just happen to know whos bidding the government has been doing for the last several decades, and how those policies shaped the reality we all have to deal with today.

I just hope more people wake up to the fact that it's really people like you who created the terrorists for the rest of us.

I’m not sure terrorism is on the rise, or whether they are recruiting more for their struggle, it seems like travellers are becoming less vulnerable though:
Quote:
With a plasticine bomb, 2 men claiming to act on behalf of Al Qaeda hijacked an Turkish airliner out of Cyprus with 136 passengers. The terrorists surrendered to authorities in Antalia’s airport on the Turkish mediterranean coast, where the jet landed to refuel for Iran where the terrorists had sought to go.

Interior Minister, Osman Günes, said the suspects where held at the Antalia Security Directorate and their identification documents indicated they are Mehmet Resat Özlü from Turkey and Abdulaziz Maliki, a Palestinian with a Syrian passport whose indentity was more uncertain.

Turco-Cypriot Transport Minister, Salih Usar, earlier had said the hijackers were Iranian, while Mahmut Adas, a Turkish passenger who called in to EFE the hijacking as it was taking place, shortly before the suspects surrendered, said they were Lebanese. At that time Adas was one of the 5 hostages left on the plane (2 passengers and 3 stewardesses) and they were held to communicate as they could speak and translate Arabic.

EFE could hear one of the suspects tell Adas he didn’t want to talk to the press at one point when he was passed the phone. “They (the hijackers) just want to go to Iran. They say they are Lebanese and complain of the repression in Lebanon, that they are doing this in the name of Al Qaeda” Adas, a technician from Cyprus on his way to a training course in Istambul is heard saying wearily.

When 2 passengers rose from their seats and tried to force the cabin door to hijack the plane, the pilot brought the jet down in Antalia saying he needed to refuel to reach Iran. Once on the ground, pilot and copilot abandoned the aircraft jumping to the tarmack from their cabin windows. Another unsual development was the improvised evacuation which resulted when the aircraft ran out of air in the cabin. The hijackers opened a door to release women and children, while the male passengers forced open emergency doors in the rear and fled.

Turkish authorities have refused to give details on how the suspects were arrested. It is known they sent 2 teams of technicians to the aircraft to fix the emergency doors, the 1st team was unsuccessful, but the second team persuaded them to surrender. Interstitial - Noticia
These bungling hijackers probably have nothing to do with Al Qaeda, sympathisers I suppose. Iran seems a poor choice for Al Qaeda wannabees to seek shelter, don't they have a problem with that Sunni/Shia schism?

Firstly, with linguistic imagination of course, USA claims that 'civillian nuclear energey' is the equivalent of 'nuclear bombs'... They impose sanctions.

Then, all over sudden, elite Revolutionary Guards are terrorists so their overseas business contracts are terminated.

Now, even Al-Qaeda terrorists have ties with Iran. Like those intentionally fabricated intelligence reports claiming Saddam's ties with Al-Qaeda.

Lol..

Duh, but you're missing other things that are real.... outside your little bubble, things arn't black and white.

Because honestly, your reality sucks, and there's not logic to it. Try thinking for yourself for once.

They sure are.

There aparently isn't anything worth while to talk about in this thread, since the person who posted it decided to go off on another personal insult banter..... toodles.

how can someone be smart and dumb all at the same time? seems like a pretty dumb comment to me..

the fact of the matter is that people don't view this issue in pure black and white. islamic terrorists are most definitely vile scum that we need to hunt down - and our government constantly stirs the pot that they wallow in, feeding into their hate.. not to mention that our great government chose to focus on saddam instead of bin laden, which merely created a vast cesspool for new terrorists as well as a great training ground. but i guess that's another one of those instances of being smart and dumb all at the same time...

to the scary-wary article... this is hardly the first warning left on some obscure site by islamic nuts. (i also think i have a better chance of getting killed in an accident on my way to work every morning.) and all the while, i have seen barely any focus on the part of our incompetent government (armed with this bloated and useless homeland defense department) of securing our ports and borders...

hope for america...

We've been talking about "the next attack" since shortly after 9/11. We GET it already. There will BE a next time, and most people know that, IMO.

Living in constant fear just doesn't impress a lot of us, that's all.
And, having said that, I'll ask you, Vicchio, exactly what the HELL are we supposed to DO about that goddamned bit of terrorist propaganda you posted with no pertinent comment? What kind of a reaction were you expecting?

I can't speak for you, but I have a life to lead, and it doesn't include hiding under furniture.

How many here believe the US government "constantly stirs the pot that they wallow in, feeding into their hate"? I think they may be right regarding the Palestinians, but otherwise this is a gross exageration. In most cases the US government has had little to do with most of the Muslim world, its relations and ties oil-driven, related to security along shipping routes and port access.

Who are these aggrieved non-Palestinians who claim the US somehow contributes to their misery? The grievances from Islamic fundamentalists vary; Al Qaeda is concerned first with infidels in Holy Lands (including Palestine); Hezbollah, Hamas and other Palestinians are more concerned with Israel proper; Chechens, Indonesian and Pilipino groups are more seccesionist. They all share this religious jihad element and the anger is vented at the local different group -Hindus in India, Russians in Chechnya, Jews in Palestine. The US is the target, but the "west" is a local construct which paralels "infidels". Muslims need to be taught tolerance for diversity before they kill us all.

What color is the sky on your planet? Have you read a history book about life on earth lately?? How many oppressive dictators and other assorted despots has the U.S. installed and supported over the years?? How many foreign governments has the CIA helped to overthrow? Can you name a single government, other than Britain, that supports U.S. policy that isn't paid large sums of our taxpayers funds?? From invasion to subversion, we constantly meddle in the affairs of other nations, why would it be an exaggeration to believe that they would resent us??

not as a constant general statement. off and on. At least I can see where certain small groups have been stepped on.

what I don't understand Nunez. a lot of the people who hate you for being from Mexico support this neo-con movement you seem to adhere.

yes a gross exaggeration is to suggest that the US has never had good intentions. there are many good things about america. There's so many in fact, any one pointed out seems trivial in comparison to the next thing good. But maybe a good for us has been a little..flippant on a generation or three in this geographic location or that. WMD giants like the US Russia and China (? wouldn't we like to know?) have probably been instrumental increasing the abilities for few to hurt many. The US is sending more to the fray as we speak. So are likely every arms dealer corporation in the world.

what do you think?

Which are those despotic Muslim repressing tyrants the US imposes or props? How far back can you reasonably go, WW2, earlier? What do you think would replace whatever tyrant you'd like removed first if its something Al Qaeda or one ot its relateds could choose?

I'm not from Mexico, Clarence, I live there.
