Everyone wants to dream that oil is not essential to modern day life. Is it worth fighting for? Just think of you society would collaspe if the supply was cut off.

I think that their "oil interest" is really an interest in playing along with the oil hegemon, Uncle Sam...

It would be nice if we could find a renewal/alternative energy and gas source, but the Austies have cars and electricity needs also.
