We aren't even fighting a war anymore, it is an occupation, something that we've had bad luck in recently. (as have most great powers) We won the war to liberate Iraq from Saddam, but haven't exactly turned it into a successful democracy.

While I agree Bush DID everything in his power to bullshit his way through that authorization it absolves the Democrats (or the whole Congress for that matter) of nothing.
They should know EXACTLY what they are voting for, and if they don't, not to vote on it until they DO understand it all. That's what we pay them for.

The issue here ought to be these doctors in Britain, Al Qaeda, Islamic fundamentalist-inspired international terrorism, but someone mentioned Iraq. You proudly noted your early opposition to Afghanistan before that and I speculated you'd likely have opposed those other interventions too.

If you don't want to go down the sequence of good arguments against united statian interventionism, why bring up your past record of opposititon thereto? I will raise the litany to signal your arguments are trite and have been thrashed before. If the only relevant interventions are Afghanistan and Iraq, are you saying its some anti-Muslim thing?
