| Greed is Good™ Location: Seattle Posts: 151 | I think all proponents of evolution are wasting their time trying to argue against the beliefs of the creationists by pointing to scientific evidence. Scientific evidence is not going to change the minds of a deeply religious populace. The best way to debate creationism is to provide an alternative RELIGIOUS viewpoint on the dinosaurs. Fight fire with fire. Let the creationists TRY to disprove the opposing RELIGIOUS viewpoints. For example, why not use the Buddhist viewpoint on the dinosaurs and creationism and let the creationists try to disprove it! In fact, I would like to see the Scientologists debate the creationists on the merits of creationism. Or better yet, have the Hindus participate in the debate. It should be interesting. There are none so blind as those who don't want to see, and until creationists stop marching into debate using thier belief as a shield, they will never see the truth. Hamm has at least, and with the help and approval of others) wagered a good amount of money in his project. When someone bets "all in" only some agreed upon bet settlin' strategy will convince. And money is too easy, betting on an obscene act, with a talking donkey, ( I heard there musta been one on the ark) will take the debate a further step. Betting is a test of faith. Now my position as to how I got here is best said by Topsy, in Harriet Beecher Stowe's; Uncle Tom's Cabin: "I s'pect I just growed. Don't think nobody never made me."
