Hacker drops a bomb on nuclear watchdog's website

Quote:
Someone hacked into the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission's website and inserted a photograph of a nuclear explosion — spurring the agency to call in the RCMP.

"It's surprisingly easy to get onto the big servers and do this kind of defacement. The threat isn't getting better, it's getting worse," O'Higgins told CBC News Online.
Funny thing is, why did it cause such a big stink as to put it in the news? If I came across the site and saw that, I would kinda double check other sources in regards to any recent nuke drop...... that'd be something you'd hear about everywhere.

It made news because national governments want total content control over the internet.

I think it made news, because for such an important group, it shows a serious lack of security of the servers, which for a group like that, is a real embarrassment. Maybe making the news will force them to step up thier security.

I am saying that with echelon and PROMIS, there isn't much they don't know if they want to know.

My opinion is that it is more scare mongering to get the sheeple to say "restrict my internet, I am offended. Save me big government".

I wouldn't be surprised if China is doing a lot of the hacking, and I also wouldn't be suprised if it increases, as more talks come of attempts to stablize the trade issues and monetary discrepencies.
