A young sex slaying victim’s best friend admitted Thursday that she watched her friend being beaten on a dark golf course, then willingly sat down in a restaurant and ate a meal with two men now charged with first-degree murder. The friend testified under cross-examination at their trial that she made no effort to escape from Michael Briscoe, 36, of Edmonton and Joseph Laboucan, 21, of Fort St. John, B.C., and other people who were at the golf course that night. The friend, who is now 17, also acknowledged Thursday that after eating a meal with the men accused of killing 13-year-old Nina Courtepatte, she also slept in a hotel room with them.
