No doubt you chuckle because everybody knows we went there for revenge for 911. At least thats what 90% of the troops believe. Of course thats because troops are told WHAT to THINK. Stateside we know better.

Actually that is not anywhere near truth, because only in our system (as opposed to the Saddam/Osama coalition and far-left "American" politics) do you have a right to believe what you do without threat of destruction. What the guys in the military have to do is obey orders, the same as anyone who has a job. It matters not what you "think" of your orders, just as long as you do as you are told.

And what I laughed at is the idiocy to which my laughter responded. Use your Crayolas and try connecting the dots.

it's not like they have these big fortified places in iraq... here's what's left of this safe house.. the blast looks like it leveled several houses in the process.

and somehow his head isn't missing any pieces and only has minor bruises. i'm not one to support conspiracy theories, but this smells like some bullshit if you ask me.

Uh-huh...except the house was in a grove of palm trees. Anything else to add for the conspiracy theorists today?

yeah... palm trees are definitely the reason why the entire surrounding area was levelled, yet somehow zarqawi came out seemingly perfectly intact. it's clear that you'll believe whatever the government tells you to believe though, so there's no point in attempting to "debate" you.

maybe the military will tell us that zarqawi was insulated from the massive blast because he was all wrapped up in protective palm trees.. riiight.. thanks for the laugh.

more views of the rubble...

it's quite a miracle that zarqawi's body was found in such tip-top shape..

Uh...no. Actually palm trees are the reason only the buildings in which his crew was hiding got killed. "Intact"? Well, you can be "in" as much "tact" as you can handle, but one good brick to the head still will put your lights out.

please give me a source for your absurd allegation.

amazing too.... 1,000 pounds worth of precision bombs - enough to decimate what looks like an entire block, and miraculously zarqawi is killed by some falling palm trees that didn't disintegrate in the blast... all so that we could show someone's carcass on tv for all the true believers to lap up.

still smells like bullshit.

Bish; I am with you 100% here. This blast site looks devastating and all the corpse shows is a few bruises? Something is rotten in Iraq. The more one surveys the photos, the more one has to question why they weren't scraping his flesh off of the rubble.

Looks like they carried in a body that was already dead. I don't see signs of rigamortis but we onbly see the "head shot". Convenient eh? It would be interesting to see a honest autopsy report on when the guy actually expired. And what caused his death. But we will never see that honest report. Who are they releasing the body to? Are they even performing an autopsy?

This is the beginning of another military stage in a "war" known for its dishonesty.

Well they are down 7 + Zarqawi...

I was merely making fun of your inane comment about being suspicious about the timing.

It's called satire.
You don't think someone else will jump in and say "let's kill the infidels in Zarwhatsis' name" or some such shit. Do you think these people who blow themselves to bits whenever they're told to are AFRAID of us now? Get the remaining 7 and I'll bet real money NOTHING will change. It won't get worse, IMO, but it won't get better.

And I stand by my suspicions. The Pentagon may have been trailing this guy for months just waiting for the right time to bump him off. And a MAJOR scandal involving the "liberators" possibly being common thugs and murderers would be an opportune time for a diversion. It IS entirely possible that this guy was being touted as the head scumbag because we had to put a face on the enemy, just like we did with Osama, who Bush lost interest in pretty quickly.
And I'm not talking home consumption here. As the Iraqis become furious over the murder of civilians, taking out a big-time terrorist would go a long way to make them a little less angry about the killings.

And I have a hunch if this happened during the Clinton administration you would have been even MORE suspicious than I.

Not a day goes by that I don't see something that reinforces my belief that people are idiots.

A hollow victory for the US and Iraq, this guy wasnt even al qaeda, just a poser.

What would happen if they shot up the head General in Iraq? I doubt we wouldn't pull out, but fight harder.

I expect much retribution killings for this, and perhaps even an assassination of a high-ranking US or Iraqi military/government official.

And perhaps a more violent/powerful man.

You do, of course, have some evidence of such a "coalition", right? Please use YOUR crayolas to post it, I'm very intrigued.

Hey, that looks like the main muffler housing from an RB-211, the very same engine that was used to power the Boeing 757 that hit the Pentagon! Can this be mere coincidence, or is there much more to this story??

"Casey, the top U.S. commander in Iraq, said the American airstrike targeted "an identified, isolated safe house.

We had absolutely no doubt whatsoever that Zarqawi was in the house," Caldwell said.

We knew exactly where he was and we chose the right moment," North told The Associated Press."

Kinda makes one wonder why they didn't try to take him alive. He would have been much more valuable if they had. Sorta lends credence to the theory that he's been held on tap for a while.

I'd just like to know how many of the people who have posted in this thread are bomb damage assessers, and how many bodies they have pulled out of complexes struck with high explosive ordnance. Also, I'd like to know the names of the medical examiners who whispered in your ears that there was no other significant damage to Zarqawi's body, because all I've seen are photos of his head. Maybe I don't see enough of the news. Regardless, however precise our munitions may be, they are not precise enough to pick out a single guy. Furthermore, it doesn't have to be the bomb that kills you, it could just as easily be the crumbling structure around you that crushes you.

I've seen no one from the military state -- publicly or privately -- that there is anything "suspicious" about the condition of Zarqawi's remains.

i think you're misreading justified skepticism of the government's story... this same government has told us lots of stories over the past several years, many of which have turned out to have been outright lies. two 500 pound bombs in the same spot should do a bit more than killl someone from the concussion, or from the "crumbling" building.. i'm no expert, but having two of those bombs hit the house will do a hell of a lot more than cause a building to crumble.. just spend 5 minutes watching one of those military shows on discovery channel where they vaporize fortified bunkers with nearly identical bombs....

maybe you still choose to readily accept what the government says, but i've lost lots of faith over the past several years.

OMG, are you guys really going to go down the Consperiacy route?

This is freaking PATHETIC.

The WTC were not felled by Airplanes... it was nuclear bombs and charges secretly laid... there wasn't a jet into the pentagon! It was a CRUISE MISSILE! Nick Berg wasn't alive when this guy cut his head off! How did a 500lbs bomb NOT mangle this guy? IT's all LIES!!!!!!

Wow My head spins trying to keep up with the latest amazingness. There are a fwe websites that say we never landed on the moon, I bet a few of you here are subscribers too...

Question for those that have the "How did a 500lbs bomb not mess up his face?"

When an airliner crashes, one of the most disconcerting effects of said crash is how some of the bodies can appear nearly unharmed. Almost untouched despite having been in a fiery crash and wreckage. Do you ever wonder "Did they really die in a plane crash or is this a cover up?"

Einstein's "Theory of Relativity" is still being challenged to this day, but by consensus Global Warming is a fact... that's REAL science at work, why didn't Albert just go that route?
