This anonymous quote from the internet sums it up nicely...

Fact. Every civilization to ever exist on this earth has had the sense of a supreme being.
Fact. A group of people that share a belief pertaining to a deity (existing or not existing) is a religion.
Fact. Not believing in something does not make it cease to exist.

Opinion. Whenever two or more of us are gathered in the Lords name, there is love. This alone, without all the other splendor that I have been blessed to feel and witness, is enough to keep me strong in my faith.

And fact: Believing in something, by no matter how many people, does make it true.

It's often useful to consider all the facts.

With that fact we are all ushered into the domain of faith. Makes science irrelevant concerning God, doesn't it?

I agree. Science is irrelevant concerning God. Something with which most, if not all, scientists, agree.

It would be nice if believers could accept that their faith is irrelevant to science.

Just because a civilization has a 'sense' of some supreme being, doesn't make THAT supreme being any more factual then santa or the easter bunny. What's been stated as fact was that humans do not have the answer to everything and reflected by the assumption of something 'more'. Doesn't make that 'more' true or real... only to them.
