One thing I notice is that there is not a lot of swearing going on in debate. What the fuck is up with that?

People are assholes, and aggression shown by swearing kinda makes people feel better when dealing with assholes.
Also the word fuck is very versatile.

What was aggressive about what I said?
Swearing does not have to be aggressive, it can also be emphatic.

I agree, but some people think fuck is a cunt of a word and I cannot think why.

it was nothing about what you said, it was not aggressive. What I was trying to explain is that some people use those words to show aggression.

And for those who do we censure accordingly.
But for those that use bloody swear words with expression, why not?
Yet still not one fucking sign of it anywhere. It is as if the ability to freely express ourselves is being stifled somehow.

It's a loss to the language that all generally recognized swear words are now used so often that with no exception they are all trite or cliches. If someone is going to take the time to insult someone or express anger at an issue, surely a few minutes to use fresh words effectively would be worthwhile.
I'm not saying that people who tend to swear in posts are fucking assholes, I am suggesting that they probably haven't the wit to know whether to wipe and flush before or after they defecate.

Used so often?????
My complaint is there are bugger all fuckers out there doing shit all of it in the first place.
And my point is that while swearing is often associated with personal insult, it can also be used to simply emphasise a damn point.
While it is true that swearing repetitively can be really bloody tedious, and personal insults are obvious regardless of any swearing or not. That does not mean that swearing cannot be creative, or that we should forswear.
Yet strangely you would have more chance of taking a flying fuck at a donut than see swearing here.
I am not sure why but it would seem that the american language is a bit of a pussy when it comes to swearing.

Insightful
Not a big deal to some of us intellectuals here, such as myself of course . .
I've heard it said before, and I recite: 'Words are our servants not our masters'.
Ever had someone catch you in a word in which that person was a dick enough to hold on on a vernacular aspect of that word?
To every utterance, there is a merit to figure in on he's or her own users behalf:
1) consistency of cultural use
2) time it takes to utter (especially if you are big onsyllables- which makes you sound good sometimes)
3) shock and aw (especially if you're like Richard dawkins who uses such a vocabulary to make everyone feel inferior.
4) The sheer dynamical expression of the word.
That's why when someone utters a slander it could be for many reasons, and I also quote:
1) feeling of excitement , awesomeness of an occurance or a thought of something,
2) to show disdain
3) sexual intensity
4) also to show sincerity out of getting something fucked up on a job sight or sincerity about getting something done.
5) so many factors can be added!
So with that said: take ease, or take caution; but above all: be thoughtful and read a book or two. As for us, maybe be dialect of enlightenment in some cases .
Who are the new flat earthers now?
