If you haven't heard about this new MTV show yet, it's quite controversial. Several popular companies have pulled their advertising. Some are saying it promotes child pornography, etc. So, do you think it needs to be pulled? If you had kids(teenagers) would you let them watch? Have you seen it and is it really that bad?

I think it's a reality and raises some good questions about teenagers and the issues they face. I think they should leave it and I hope it continues to keep people talking.

The statute, which the NY times describes as: "Child pornography is defined by the United States as any visual depiction of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct,"... doesn't specify that the depiction must include an actual minor, only that it depicts a minor involved in sex. The show depicts minors involved in sex, even though the actors are not minors.

Sounds like there might be a legal case there.

If there isn't any physical harm to children, I would say it's not child porn, or any other form of child abuse. One can make your argument, that a depiction mirrors actual sex, but it ultimately does not. Nor does one's appearance of being younger mean one is actually younger.

Me too. People should know this by now, really. We've had books for a long time now. We should know that to read them is not to actually live them. The same applies to TV, obviously.

American Idol recently aired an episode which showed the breast of a preteen girl. Only FOX would air that.
