The NY Times Reviews Ballerina’s Stomach Instead Of The Show

There's a way to critique intelligently without being downright mean. I guess some people just don't have it in them! I wish they'd see how bad they make themselves look instead of the person they are being mean and insulting to. And the thing is...this Ballerina isn't even overweight.


A New York Times Critic recently criticized the star Ballerina, Jennifer Ringer, in “The Nutcracker” for looking “as if she'd eaten one sugar plum too many". Take a look at this video. Does this Ballerina look over weight?

I mean, overweight for a ballerina is a far different thing from overweight for a regular woman. I still don't know what world that guy lives in to call her too heavy, but the problem is with the ballet community in general, not just him. The ballerina probably takes it so well because she's had her parents, dance instructors, and directors telling her the same thing since she started when she was a small girl.
