Cybersex? (Not Quite)

Yes sorry I had to post that.

What do you think of cybersex? Personally to me its not much different than startng at porn except that its interactive. At least its with a real person right? To me... literotica, foreplay, the actul description of whats being done to someone arouses and excites me greatly.

Ditto here... people can do whatever they want..... besides the possible stalking crap that can occur, it'd probably be considered the safest sex..... until we can email sperm

Actually if that were true, the magazine industry would be well and truly dead, not to mention the internet itself. Even conception doesn't have to be tactile.One of the problems in partnerships is often honest verbal communication and men, in particular, do not realise how strong a tool for arousal (heh) words and verbal/written images can be, The actual physical art of intercourse is only the final stage. Even couples, who through illness or other considerations, cannot have physical sex, can still enjoy an emotionally satisfying relationship with all the hallmarks of a sexual relationship bar actual intercourse.Ditto read some of the great love letters written - more powerful than any caress.

Well, even though I'm not supposed to be able to post my opinion here, I'm going to.

I think that cybersex is wrong. I've gone into gay teen chatrooms before, and there are a lot of desperate people in there. Desperate for sex. They have the wrong idea of sex though - people should only have sex with somebody they love and have a stable relationship. I'm not saying that cybersex is actually sex, but it promotes promiscuity in the exact same manner as having sex with somebody you don't actually love and share a bond with.

I only speak as I find, and I happen to be a very tactile person. I don't necessarily mean sex per se - I suppose I must have an exaggerated sense of touch - someone's hand - clean hair - lots of things, really.

Looking at erotic images is fine - but on their own they are a poor substitute, as merely looking at bare skin is not as good as actually touching it with gentle fingers and sharing its warmth and texture (at least that's what I find)... So I think that virtual sex would be soul-less and cold, other than as a substitute... a genital release, maybe, but seriously lacking in the sensual department.

Hope that doesn't sound too precious, (and anyway, I'm only talking from memory).

ps. the sense of smell is hugely important too, surely? -- not artificial scents and perfumes, but more wholesome naturally-occurring aromas, such as we all have after a relaxing shower with plain soap, for example.

I agree with you Tycoon, that in certain circumstances it is, and as a way of searching for a meaningful relationship, unproductive and possibly harmful, especially if the person doing it already has a partner. It often seems to be used as an escape, a way of entering a fantasy world where the inconvenient and uncomfortable truths of real life relationships don't have to be considered. Drugs of course do the same thing and cybersex is addictive for the same reason.
We are surrounded by various media encouraging and enlightening us on how to perfect our lives, without recognising that a life less perfect, just like people who are less perfect, may be ultimately more rewarding, not less.

I think it is you who has the wrong idea if you think you can determine what other people should and shouldn't be doing in regards to sex...... not everybody wants a stable relationship and maybe those people are willing to accept the consequences of their actions..... everybody has a different lifestyle.

Maybe the right thing they should be doing is only having sex in a comitted relationship..... then again, some people would say they should only be having sex with the opposite sex...... see how slippery this slope gets? Before you know it, you're no different then the people who don't understand your own sexuality.

Indeed, I don't even have a cell phone for many reasons, but texting always seemed stupid.... I could call and say what I gotta say faster then hitting various numbers two or three times to get one letter...... if there's no decent sized and properly laid out keyboard, t'hell with it.
