heh.. he sure as hell doesn't..

biden's without question an incredibly intelligent and insightful man. you can't rise to his position without having that natural ability. he gave a speech a couple months before the election - i believe i even started a thread based on what he said.. basically, he was hypothesizing on what the situation in iraq would look like when the elections in iraq took place. would there be any fundamental difference there? i.e. would iraqis wake up and still see u.s. troops patrolling their streets? would they still lack the ability to protect themselves? would the elections even be seen as something legitimate/powerful enough to give the iraqi government the respect of the public, rather than the current state of distrust and skeptisim? seems that all of biden's worst fears have come true. of course, when we're talking about bush's policies, the worst is the norm.

i still don't quite understand why he voted for rice, although it was clearly a pragmatic decision.
