Biden is my state's Senator and as such we get to see a lot more of him than the rest of the country. Around here he is highly respected for saying what he thinks and being pretty accurate in his judgement. Realize though, that Biden IS a politician and a very canny pragmatist. He knows when to fight, when to run and when to stop pushing. If you have an opinion and you present it to the country, which just continues to idolize Bush for no discernable reason, you don't want to put your head on the chopping block practically ALONE!
I believe Biden still has presidential ambitions and I don't blame him for not wanting to screw up his chances. A lot of us wanted him to run again but in his wisdom he didn't jump at what looked like a perfect opening to unseat Bush. Bush was so bad, it DID look like he was giving the White House to the Democrats.
Kerry, however, DID jump and look where it got him. Nuff said?
