| "Reverse" racism
This has been going on a lot in my house, I live with 9 other girls, 4 asian, 1 hispanic, and 5 white (including me).
There was an incident of racism on campus. Racial slang on the doorway of a black girl's room.
The school went up in arms, and my house was very opinionated on it.
One of the white girls began pointing out how much "white people" get, and how "they" dont deserve things like their own club on campus (white student union as opposed to the existing black student union). Ironically, the movie White Chicks was on tv.
My question up for debate, just because there are a lot of white people, do we not deserve the same? Is this racial categorizing acceptable, or, as I see it, just as harmful as the above incident? |
