A long time ago, I might have agreed, but the U.N. has failed so often that it would be tragic to give them military power. A lot of people think they were right about not going into Iraq and I won't argue that point. But, their neglect of the Balkans, their failure in Rowanda and their curent failure in the Sudan to say nothing of the obvious corruption in the Iraqi oil for food program make it clear that they are a body that can't be trusted with the role of world policeman.
