During the debates, Bush mentioned security on the borders (namely the Mexican border). He hoped to provide Mexicans, who were entering the US for an honest reason of working, with a card/pass to get over the border.

I'd like to hear some thoughts on this... I personally don't see it's purpose. Yes, the Mexican workers could make a better living with a low-paying job in the US than with one in their own country. However, we don't have enough jobs for our own citizens, so why is it alright if we allow citizens of other countries to come in and take them away from us? This is no different than outsourcing higher paying jobs.

It can be argued that the jobs that the Mexicans would fill would be low paying jobs that most Americans would not want. Yes, Americans may not want these jobs. Yes, Americans probably will not be able to make a living, or live comfortably off these wages. However, with the lack of jobs today, unfortunately we are forced to try to make livings off of these low wages.
