What a crock...BIn Laden convienently forgets the fact that without CIA training, arms, and money...and more importantly Stinger air to air missiles...the chances of the mujahadeen ever winning in Afghanistan was slim and none....the Russian Hind gunships were very successful in combat operations.the mujahadeen were on the losing end..that is until we really opened the checkbook for them. Sometimes I wish the benefit of hindsight if we had left the towel-wearing 7th century wannabees to swing in the wind, the Russians would have completed their war of conquest and that would have been it...I could have lived with them having a soviet government in Afghanistan...it would have collapsed anyway after the Cold War ended.
