| i disagree. it's a free market - if someone wants to pay a company exec $20 million a year, i can't see the need to stop that. it may be stupid, but it's their own decision.
your figure is still around $5 million or so, which is a lot.
i am an engineer. i studied hard to achieve that degree, and had to forego a lot of income while at university.
it is easy to earn more money by doing a unionised job where lucrative overtime is assured.
everyone knows that tradesmen can earn big $.
if you want to eradicate waste, i would limit the power of unions to secure these unfair conditions. the savings could be used to pay non-unionised workers who don't enjoy the same protection, and who live on a very low wage.
note i am not anti-union. they are vital to act as a safety net for genuinely exploited workers. |
