| Regardless of the will to know, ignorance IS bliss. You can make an argument about the "what if's" as a result of not knowing something, but if you really do NOT know anything you aren't even aware of the "what if's".
And how can you be ignorant out of fear? Fear implies the realization of SOMETHING even if it not a solid possibility.
You have to know of the existence of something to fear it.
