| Local SPCA, Humane Society (SPCA first), neighborhood flyers, Newspaper (some have free lost pet classifieds). Every town has a few local cat and dog rescue outfits. Try the Web. Google your local area web sites. There are a lot of little local sites which may be helpful. Most importantly, talk to your neighbors (ESPECIALLY the local Kids) and have a photo with you. Old cats don't usually stray TOO far at first so that's actually your best shot.
If I think of any more I'll put them up, but that's about all I can think of. I wish you the best of luck as I know how you feel. 2 years ago I had to kill our 16 year-old cat (more a family member than pet) and I know how tough it can be.
Not a day goes by that I don't see something that reinforces my belief that people are idiots. |
