I think animals might be a bit of a stretch here... since most will think complicated multicellular creatures like mice, frogs, spiders, or even sponges. As far as I know the only organisms "re-animated" after anything more than a century or two have been seeds, fungi spores (Egypt), bacterium type single cell stuff (New Mexico salt mines... 100's of millions years old), and viruses.
Still it is really cool that it happens at all and this phenonemon is the source of much study into scientific based life extension. A gene is a gene I guess. Figure out what drives one to "live" for millions of years and it opens the doors to untold wonders. So I hope.
