If you want a bigger picture, all actions have consequences. What you're doing is making a difference in the world. History and science are means for human beings to figure out themselves. Maybe it's a rat wheel turning with no end in sight, or maybe there is an answer waiting to be solved. Who knows? All I know is that we're part of the process.
