I only speak as I find, and I happen to be a very tactile person. I don't necessarily mean sex per se - I suppose I must have an exaggerated sense of touch - someone's hand - clean hair - lots of things, really.
Looking at erotic images is fine - but on their own they are a poor substitute, as merely looking at bare skin is not as good as actually touching it with gentle fingers and sharing its warmth and texture (at least that's what I find)... So I think that virtual sex would be soul-less and cold, other than as a substitute... a genital release, maybe, but seriously lacking in the sensual department.
Hope that doesn't sound too precious, (and anyway, I'm only talking from memory).
ps. the sense of smell is hugely important too, surely? -- not artificial scents and perfumes, but more wholesome naturally-occurring aromas, such as we all have after a relaxing shower with plain soap, for example.
