| I think the Presidential folks responded well when it was first comprehended that they were not dealing with accidental plane crashes but a planned attack. I think in the first week Bush did d what could best be expected of him concerning that incident. I think that the majority of the people in the USA also responded "above expectations" in helping out the firefighters and what have you. If Kerry had been president then he would have been working on the same data in-put that Bush was working with (from the D.O.D. and other sources. And no doubt would have followed about the same pathways concerning Afganistan (and would have perhaps experienced the same moments of confusion as did Bush). A lot of the things Bush did was in conformity with pre-established plans that have been set in place for dealing with such an emergency. Those same response plans would have gone into effect if Kerry had been president.
I think folks are reading too much into the "goat story" story.
I think when Kerry was on the Larry King show he was letting Americans know that he was having the same feelings as the rest of us all shared in those first few hours during the 9-11 attacks. In the other statement Kerry was attempting to he would have been able to take command in a intelligent manner and that he would have done better then Bush - which he said for apperently political reasons to gain some votes in the next election. (such behavior is expected of a canadate running for office).
Honestly, walking out of that class room quicker would not have made much difference, now would it? Kerry was just using some tid-bit of information and with the advantage of quarter backing to make people think he is the best guy for the job of President - just politics.
It's all just hoopla. (best word I have for it off hand) and so do not be overly impressed by those political games. Look at what they intend to do if elected and what kinds of policy they advocate for the future when making your voting choices. (opinion of mine).
In other words vote for Kerry.
