Sonart- I completely agree. So far our so called "victories" are superficial at best. They're years maybe even decades away from achieving independence, and if they do it will be even longe before they can protect that independence. The only possible way for Iraq to be able to remain stable and maintain an acceptable standard of living, they need to be able to protect themselves.
This means having a well trained, well equipped police force. Also, they political and religious divides are extreme, so it might result in having to divide Iraq into three seperate countries. However, it will take a very long time for the ethnic and political groups to accept the changes, which means decades. I'd probably say that in 30-50 years, Iraq will achieve some sort of stability. |
