| I think we might find a "moon mushroom" for sure someday without our robotic explorers.
The mushroom has DNA unlike anything else on earth and is not part of any kind of earthly evolutionary chain - before or after. The mushroom's micro pores are not effected by redation and so they could have came here on the cosmic winds or whatever. And so perhaps we have already discovered an alien life form right here, and did not know it.
Another theory is that the Global Brian of consciousness called Mother Earth is teaching us how to use her resources to build rocket ships so that we can transport life here to other planets in the universe. That might be the long term mission and the reason for places in the universe to be waiting our arrival.
We are the "bees" of the "flower" theory.
